John 15:4-5: "Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me. “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing."

A connected life begins with the right source. Social media promises connection, but it often leaves us feeling scattered, reactive, and spiritually dry. Jesus offers a deeper kind of connection—abiding in Him—where your joy isn’t dependent on notifications, headlines, or other people’s approval.

When your heart is rooted in Christ, you can engage the digital world without being ruled by it. Abiding looks like returning to Jesus throughout the day, letting His words and presence shape what you give your attention to and how you respond. The goal isn’t to escape the internet; it’s to stay connected to the Vine so your life bears fruit even when your feed feels chaotic.

  • What emotions do you most often feel after scrolling, and what might those emotions be revealing about what you are seeking?

  • When do you notice yourself reaching for your phone as a substitute for abiding with Jesus?

  • Choose one simple abiding practice for today (a brief prayer before opening an app, a verse on your lock screen, or a 2-minute pause to breathe and listen).

  • What would it look like to measure today’s fruit (love, joy, peace) rather than today’s engagement (likes, views, comments)?

  • Pray: “Jesus, keep me connected to You first. Teach me to live from Your life, not my feed.”
